Historic Collaboration Agreement
Between Saudi Mauritanian Company for Minerals Logistics Services and WADICO – Al Wadi Al Gadid Company for Mineral Resources and Oil Shale
In line with expanding regional partnerships and enhancing integration in the mining sector, the
Saudi Mauritanian Company for Minerals Logistics Services (SMCMLS)
has signed a Collaboration Agreement with
WADICO – Al Wadi Al Gadid Company for Mineral Resources and Oil Shale,
a subsidiary of the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, in September 2025.
Agreement Objectives
The agreement aims to study, explore, and evaluate phosphate deposits in the Bofal region in southeastern Mauritania
and other licensed areas of SMCMLS. It includes the preparation of a comprehensive feasibility study according to international standards.
Both parties emphasized that this cooperation reflects a shared vision of technical expertise exchange and operational knowledge
in mineral exploration and mining, contributing to the sustainable development of Mauritania’s mining sector.
This milestone represents a new chapter in Arab cooperation within the mining sector, opening promising investment opportunities
between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
